Friday Night Live
Friday Night Live is Bel Air Rec’s youth center program which meets @ BAMS on select Friday nights throughout the school year. Membership is open to 6th, 7th & 8th grade students registered @ BAMS and Southampton Middle School. This very popular program fills quickly, usually within hours, on a first come, first served basis.
Each event offers a live DJ, dancing, basketball, ping-pong, indoor soccer, volleyball, and a great social environment with friends! We have several Parent Chaperones, whom are background checked and a uniformed police officer in attendance for each event so you can feel comfortable knowing your child is well supervised. Pizza, soda, and snacks can be purchased as well.
Each event is from 6:45pm - 9:00pm.
Bel Air Brigade Travel Baseball
Bel Air Brigade Travel Baseball has teams in age groups from U8 - U17. Our goal is to produce competitive teams that play in County Leagues as well as Tournaments both Locally and beyond. Baseball Recreational
Bel Air Recreational Baseball provides Baseball programs for the following Age Groups in both the Spring and Fall.
T-ball (4-6)

Registration for Spring season opens on 1/2 and closes 2/29. Practices for most age groups start in early April and games begin soon after. The Spring season concludes for all age groups around the same time school lets out.
Registration for Fall Baseball opens in Early June, with the season running from September - early November.

Boys Basketball
Our focus is to offer a setting in which individuals can grow in talent, Basketball IQ, and more importantly their leadership and life skills. Travel basketball program is for player’s ages 7 through 15 who are looking for a competitive and fun basketball experience. Each player will have two practices each week in addition to games. Practices will be built around concepts that prioritize the development of the individual and the team, preparing for competitive game play on weekends.
Boys Basketball AAU
Our focus is to offer a setting in which individuals can grow in talent, Basketball IQ, and more importantly their leadership and life skills. Bel Air Rec AAU program is for players age 7 through 15 who are looking for an opportunity to play against better competition they couldn't find if they decided to stay at home and play in local leagues.
Girls Basketball
Registration for the season will open in September. Registrations online only at Girls Basketball. Birthday cut-off for each age group is September 1. Practices will be Monday-Friday and games will be Saturdays at either Southampton Middle School, Red Pump Elementary, or the McFaul Center. Girls Basketball Travel
Registration for the season will open in September. Registrations online only at Girls Basketball. Cost to register for try-outs will be $10.00 per player. Additional costs will be determined by the number of girls on the team. We will play in the Glen Arm Winter League. Age groups are determined by current grade (5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade). Practices may be Monday-Friday and games will be Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays at either Glen Arm Sports Complex, Highland School, or Grace Classical. Baton/Applause of Bel Air
Applause is the premier baton twirling team in the Bel Air and Harford County area. We are lucky to have twirlers of all ages from all around the Baltimore, Maryland region, and from as far away as Pennsylvania and Delaware. Applause has produced more State, Regional, and National champions than any other area group. In addition to our competition and National program, we offer recreation classes for children who want to participate in a fun activity without the pressure to compete. Our affiliation with Bel Air Recreation and the dedication of our volunteers allows us to offer the finest baton instruction at a fraction of the cost of other area groups. Our twirlers, teams, and coaches are some of the most accomplished in the area.-Classes are every Wednesday 6-7 beginning in October at Bel Air Middle School. Private lessons are available at an additional cost from 7-9. Cost for the season that runs through the end of May is $110.00. This includes any competition fees and costumes that are needed.
Girls Field Hockey
Visit www.belairrec.org for online registration beginning 4/15/22. Boys and Girls in grades K – 8 are invited to play beginning mid-August through early November. The registration fee for Clinic (grades K – 2) is $70. Clinic is held on Saturday mornings at Kelly Field. Two “Play-days” will be scheduled on Saturday or Sunday throughout the season. The registration fee for grades 3-8 is $110.00 (additional fees if kilt is needed) Weeknight practices are held at Kelly Field. Games are played on Sundays. An opportunity for more competitive play is available with our Elite team for 7/8th graders. Tryouts for this team will be held in early June. Open registration will run from 4/15/22 through 5/31/22. Football

Football registration for age groups 8U-14U, the cost will remain $200 per player, which includes 2 game jerseys & game pants. Cheerleading
Online registration only at https://belairrec.org/ will begin March 1. Registration will remain open until June 14 or until spots are filled. Age groups 8U-14U, the cost will remain $200 per cheerleader and for age groups 6U-7U the cost is $150. Registration will include 1 full uniform and all Competition Entry Fees for each registered child. Sibling discounts only apply to siblings registered in 8U-14U age groups. Registration is not complete until you are paid in full. Jr. Track and Field
The Harford Junior Meet is held each spring (May or early June) on the Bel Air High School track to introduce children to track and field.
- Open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 15, both novices and those with previous track experience. Age groups are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15.
- Events are the 100 dash, 400 & 800 runs, relays and long jump and high jump (older age groups).
- One entry fee covers up to four events: $5 pre-registration $7 thereafter, including day-of-meet entries.

The Bill Brown Youth Cross-Country Series,held annually for more than 30 years, consists of three introductory cross-country meets in Bel Air beginning the first Sunday in October.
- Open to all boys and girls under age 14, it is named in honor of Bill Brown, 1951 Pan-American Games gold medalist and Hall of Fame coach and PE teacher from 1952 to 1983.
- The three meets of the series are held two weeks apart on Sunday afternoons. Race distances are 1/4 mile for the under-6 age group, a half mile for 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11, and 1 mile for 12-3. In each meet, medals are awarded to the top 3 boys and top 3 girls. At the third meet, awards are presented to the fastest boy and girl overall in each age group, and to the most improved (two per age group) based on the time in the first meet.
- The three courses are at The John Carroll School, the Churchville Rec Center, and Tollgate Park. A brief instructional session and warmup precede the races of each meet.

Bel Air Bulldogs Boys Rec Lacrosse program exists to teach the game of lacrosse and provide opportunities for boys of all levels of experience and ability. Our seasons run from March 1st - Memorial Day with out-of-season training options and tournaments offered for those interested. Registration is open from October to January.
Bulldogs teams:
- Are organized by age groups for boys 4 to 14 years old
- Compete in the Harford County Youth Lacrosse League (HarCo) when possible or in the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA) league in the spring
- Provide year-round training and playing opportunities open to all players
- Encourage multi-sport athletes, but are lacrosse and team-focused in the spring
Boys Lacrosse Club/Travel
Bel Air Blue Claws Lacrosse is a program that focuses on whole-child development, to compete in the most elite leagues and tournaments in the country. Open tryouts are held in July.
Blue Claws Teams:
- Range from 2nd to 11th grade, organized by high school graduation year
- Compete in the Greater Howard Club Lacrosse Conference (GHCLC), the NXT Mid-Atlantic and/or the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA) leagues in the spring
- Play in tournaments throughout the US
- Train and play as a team, with year-round opportunities
- Truly encourage multisport athletes, but are lacrosse focused in the spring
Girls Lacrosse Recreational and Travel
The Bel Air Girls Lacrosse program offers a fun and encouraging environment for girls to learn and grow their lacrosse skills. With options for girls from 4 years old to 13+ there is a level for every player. An opportunity for more competitive play is available on our travel teams in the MYLA league. The season runs March through May and includes one to two practices a week with one to two games a week. Practices are held at Southampton MS. Rec games are held at various locations around Harford County, while our Travel MYLA league will play in both Harford County and surrounding Baltimore areas. Registration for Girls Lacrosse opens in October. Registrations are online only at Bel Air Girls Lacrosse. Soccer Travel
Travel program operates as North Chesapeake FC. Age Groups: U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15. Registration online begins March 15th for Club. There is a tryout fee of $25. If you make a Club team, the cost is approx. $300 -$500 plus $125 (est.) for a uniform. Tryouts for the NCFC Club program will be in late April/early May. Wrestling
Ages 5-14 (Age-Weight) formats with emphasis on technique, balance, strength, endurance and fun. Clinic (Ages 5-7) Elem. level (Ages 8-10) and Middle School level (Ages 11-14). Practices will be 2-3 times per week with events on weekends. For experienced wrestlers, a tournament team participates in elite tournaments throughout MD, NJ, PA, and DE. First-time wrestlers are welcome and encouraged by starting together in a fundamental-based practice and will wrestle in local Novice (beginners) tournaments with other new wrestlers, guaranteeing maximum mat time.
