At Encore, we are dedicated to fostering creativity, confidence, and collaboration in every young performer.
Through dynamic workshops, hands-on performances, and supportive mentorship, we inspire campers to
discover their unique voices, build lasting friendships, and express themselves through the art of drama. Our
mission is to provide a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment where students can explore their passion for
theater, develop essential life skills, and gain the confidence to shine both on and off the stage.
Theme: “Stage & Screen: The Ultimate Acting Experience”
Overview:
Teens will explore both stage acting and film performance, learning the differences in technique, delivery, and
presence. They will work on scripted scenes, improv, and even film short clips, culminating in a theatre and
film showcase on the final day.
Daily Breakdown: Lunch break from 12 to 12:45 daily in the cafeteria
Day 1: Lights Up! Theatre & Film Acting Basics
• Icebreaker drama games & team-building activities
• Introduction to stage acting vs. film acting – differences in expression, movement, and voice
• Character development exercises (monologues and improvisation)
Introduction to Choreography
• Short improv film challenge: Teens create a one-minute scene on camera
Day 2: Scene Work & On-Camera Training
• Rehearsing scripted stage scenes (small groups)
• Film acting workshop: How to work with close-ups, framing, and subtle emotions
• Shooting a short film scene (students perform while learning basic directing and camera techniques)
• Introduction to blocking and stage movement, choreography review
Day 3: Rehearsals & Behind-the-Scenes Work
• Refining stage performances with feedback from instructors
• Editing short, filmed scenes (basic post-production elements)
• Costume & prop design for final showcase
• Dress rehearsal for live stage performances
Day 4: The Final Showcase – Stage & Screen Premiere
• Final run-through of theatre performances
• Screening of student-created short films
• Recorded theatre showcase performance
• Cast celebration & fun awards (Best Dramatic Moment, Funniest Performance, etc.)
