Purpose

Our purpose is to introduce youth to the sport of volleyball in a fun and challenging environment where they can experience the self-confidence found in learning a new skill and overcoming adversities.

What we do

Bel Air rec youth volleyball offers a Spring Clinic each year between mid-April and early June. The program offers a Spring co-ed clinic each year for girls in grades 5th to 8th, and for boys in grades 5th to 10th. Over 200 players are participating each year. We would like to have more parents and volunteers join our team to help us provide more programs in the future.

*These are “clinics” which means there is no season, no games, no league and no designated coach or teams.  Each week is dedicated to the fundamentals and will include competitive competitions.  The lead clinician is Coach Dave Simon who has coached boys and girls in Harford County since 1999 and with the help of great coaches has had the privilege to help coach some of the best players in the area.

*Occasionally a date may need to be postponed due to unforeseen conflicts in the high school gym.  If this occurs the "make-up" date would be used.

*The registration system platform is TeamSnap.  This will prompt you to create a new account if you don't already have an account.

*Players should wear athletic attire (shorts, shirt and gym shoes) and are strongly encouraged to remove all watches, wristbands or bracelets.  Players should bring their own water container.  Knee pads are NOT required but some may choose to wear.

Who we are

We are a small band of local high school, club and rec coaches that love the sport and want to help grow the sport in our Bel Air community. We are always looking for more volunteers that share our same passion. In the future, our vision is to see future volunteers help us run additional programs.

Youth volleyball chairperson

Coach Simon is just one of some local volleyball fanatics that have helped grow the sport in the area in recent years. Coach Simon has coached for 7 seasons with the Girls Varsity Volleyball program at Bel Air High School in Harford County, Maryland. His arrival sparked a turnaround in the program and since then the team has a 107-20 record, and has won 5 conference titles and 6 straight regional titles.
